MVT acquires Kanigen Group and strengthens its European position

Kanigen Works Benelux and Kanigen France are joining MVT to together form the largest European electroless nickel plating group.
This integration marks an important milestone for Kanigen, while remaining fully aligned with the continuity of its identity, its teams and its industrial commitments.

 
A strengthened European organisation
With this evolution, the group now relies on three production sites located in Genk, Bonneville and Houthalen, representing more than 100 employees.
This multi-site organisation enables the group to offer a complete and coherent solution for the European electroless nickel plating market, combining chemical expertise, industrial capacity and customer proximity.

 
What does this concretely mean for our customers?
This acquisition directly strengthens our ability to support industrial projects through:

Our core business sectors remain unchanged. We continue to support our customers in the fields of semiconductors, mechanical engineering, energy and electric mobility, with the same level of technical excellence.

The governance of Kanigen Group remains stable: Edwin Pittomvils continues to lead operations to ensure business continuity and support future growth.
The family-driven corporate culture that has characterised Kanigen for more than 65 years is fully preserved.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Jean-Marie della Faille, whose vision and commitment have enabled the development of a strong, recognised group with a lasting presence in the European industrial landscape.

 
A shared history, focused on the future
This acquisition also carries strong symbolic significance for the Jeurissen family. In 1959, the grandfather of Thomas Jeurissen, CEO of MVT, was Kanigen’s very first employee.
Three generations later, these two industrial stories come together once again to jointly shape the future of electroless nickel plating in Europe.

In the coming months, joint working groups will be established to strengthen knowledge sharing, optimise chemical processes and internal organisation, and further advance the digitalisation of operations.
